16 year old member of SADD killed by a drunk driver

Killed by a dui! Don't drink and drive! Pictures of Aleia Is it better in 2002? I miss my daughter!!! My Favorite Links Guest Book

In her junior year, Aleia participated in a program run by SADD in her high school. During an entire day, she carried a black carnation to symbolize that she was killed by a drunk driver.

During that day no one was allowed to talk to her or listen to her. At the beginning of the day Aleia was so excited to get to be "dead". But by the end of the day, she told me it was no fun to be dead..

The babysitter was only twelve and in the eighth grade.

The passenger who was in the drunk driver's car was killed instantly too.  He had decided to go along with the driver for a beer run. The drunk driver suffered a severe leg fracture but he did survive!

All three of these people died because one man decided to drink and drive.

It is my hope that someone will see this site and decide not to drink and drive!

In 1994, 15,935 people were killed in alcohol related deaths. That year my daughter became one of the statistics.
In 2007, an estimated 12,998 people died in alcohol-impaired traffic crashes involving a driver with an illegal BAC (.08 or greater). These deaths constitute 31.7 percent of the 41,059 total traffic fatalities in 2007.
Please check out this site and sign the guestbook. Please let me now if you decide not to drink and drive. It is time we put an end to drinking and driving!

On October 16, a little after midnight, Aleia was killed by a drunk driver as she was taking home her sibling's babysitter. Both her and the babysitter were killed instantly. Aleia was in her senior year and in just a little over a month, she would have been 17.

Alcohol involvement remains the leading factor in motor vehicle deaths.(NHTSA,1999)
